The Clean Business Initiative (CBI) is a robust network of Cambodia’s leading businesses and guided by business leaders. Beyond the business sector, the Clean Business Initiative works and collaborates with a range of supporting organizations and institutions. The CBI works to partner with the Royal Government of Cambodia as well as with donors, particularly the U.S. Agency for International Development, and others such as the World Bank and International NGOs such as CARE and World Vision.

The Clean Business Initiative has received a statement of support from H.E. Dr. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister, Ministry of Commerce. This statement was read by H.E. Pan Sorasak at the launch of the Clean Business Initiative in September 2008. In addition, the Clean Business Initiative had has positive meetings with high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). The Clean Business Initiative is eager to work with the Royal Government of Cambodia to further private sector reforms and will continue to engage government officials through private meetings as well as the Government-Private Sector Forum.
NGOs and Donors
The Clean Business Initiative has had numerous meetings with international NGOs and donors working on issues related to private sector development for two main reasons. First, it is essential that we are able to partner with other organizations and, where possible, incorporate Clean Business into others’ activities. Second, the Clean Business Initiative is working to incorporate Clean Business principles into the supply chain of NGOs and donors so that certified Clean Businesses can become the preferred providers of a growing number of organizations.
